Gone Fishing. The Clear Blue Waters of the Eastern Algarve

We arrived in Monte Gordo on March 5th. It was raining. 'We need it' said our host Armando. Gayle and I weren't so convinced. However it was a lot warmer than the far north of Scotland where we had spent the winter.

Don't let anyone tell you that the winters in the North West of Scotland are cold. They're not. It's all a plan to stop the crowds. The climate is helped by the Gulf Stream and the countryside with it's snowcapped mountains is as beautiful as anywhere in the world.

Rather like an average Post Christmas in the English Midlands but without the persistent greyness, winter is absolutely the best time to visit the highlands of Scotland. There is so much sun!!! But Shssshhhh. Don't tell anyone.

To Spring, and Portugal and OMG the joy of warmth and blues sky and the ocean and Mediterranean food. The fresh food is enough of a reason to move to the Algarve. Immediately!
